PPG Automotive Coatings is a world leader in providing protective and decorative coatings for your vehicle.

The Decorative Coating Systems business is segmented into topcoats and clearcoats. The topcoat offerings include basecoat / clearcoat product lines as well as single coat color offerings, elastomeric and specialty coatings. Technology choices include solvent borne, water borne and powder. Since the inception of the business, PPG has formulated over 120,000 different colors for the automotive manufacturers. Additionally, the topcoats portion of the business includes color styling and "effects" color creation and has been on the leading edge of automotive design for many years.

The second segment is the clearcoat business. Technology choices include solvent borne, water borne and powder. The clearcoat business is rapidly becoming a PPG core competency worldwide. Our expertise in the powder clearcoat business with such customers as BMW has placed PPG in a leadership role in this business.

Substrate Protection Systems
SPS products include pretreatments, electrodeposition primers and surfacers, adhesives and sealants, and coil-applied pretreatments and coatings used on automotive bodies and parts.
